Jessica is an experienced negotiator who focuses a significant amount of her practice on construction litigation where she advises and represents owners, manufacturers, contractors, engineers, architects and other construction professionals.
In her general civil commercial litigation practice, Jessica provides legal and strategic advice to large financial institutions, local and national real estate development companies and international corporations on a wide range of issues including contract disputes, insolvency and restructuring matters, employment matters and negligence-related matters.
Jessica also has experience in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. Through her litigation practice, she regularly advises clients on issues ranging from sensitive severance issues, maternity rights and boardroom disputes to more standard contractual and grievance complaints.
Her approach with clients is both diplomatic and respectful, her client service is paramount and she greatly understands the importance of a collaborative client & lawyer relationship. Throughout the process, Jessica helps to ensure that clients are well-versed about important aspects of the case, complex legal issues and the court process so that they can make informed decisions.
Most importantly, Jessica always focuses on the best interest of the client and will always guide them towards the most cost effective and successful resolution possible. She therefore also relies on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) including mediation and arbitration as beneficial tools for her clients. Jessica is results oriented, diplomatic, attentive to detail, well respected and enjoys an excellent reputation with her clients, the courts and opposing lawyers.
Jessica has appeared at all levels of the Ontario Courts, including appearing as counsel before the Ontario Court of Appeal.
She joins Goldman Sloan Nash & Haber LLP from a large downtown law firm where she learned her well honed skills of legal drafting and effective negotiation.
