Walter M. Traub B.A., LL.B, LL.M.
Mr. Traub’s practice is devoted almost exclusively to representing financial institutions in all aspects of financial transactions, and includes work-outs and bankruptcy and insolvency matters. Mr. Traub was called to the Bar of Ontario with honours in 1973. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University, a Bachelor of Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, a Masters of Law Degree in Banking and Financial Services Law from York University and has been certified as a Specialist in Real Estate Law by the Law Society of Upper Canada. He has taught the Bar Admission Course in the fields of real estate, mortgages, estate planning and estate administration from 1974 to 1990. He has been extensively involved in lectures to such institutions as the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Trust Companies Association, the Real Estate Institute and has taught the Mortgage Broker’s course at Seneca College School of Public and Legal Administration. Mr. Traub is the author of numerous articles on real estate and mortgage transactions and has chaired and been a member of several committees advising on legislation affecting real estate, construction law, mortgage law and loan and trust law in the Province of Ontario. Mr. Traub is the Editor in Chief of the leading book on mortgage law in Canada “Falconbridge on Mortgages” published by Canada Law Book in 2003.
